Naniwa Pump Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has received an order for engine room pumps for twenty 8,000 TEU container ships, to be built for Evergreen Marine Corporation by Samsung Heavy Industries.

This is a massive project on which Taiwan’s largest ship owner; Evergreen Marine Corporation spends more than 2 billion US dollars.  The cooling seawater pumps for the propulsion engines are controlled by the latest inverter system, designed to decrease fuel consumption, thus carbon dioxide emissions.

Most container ships owned by Evergreen Marine Corp. are equipped with pumps made by Naniwa Pump Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
